Wolf Rock Farms believes in animal conservation and that all wildlife has a purpose and place within nature.
With over 40 years combined experience in animal husbandry, rescue, rehabilitation and ownership, we do not partake in any sort of
trapping or snaring of wildlife.
Located in North Central Minnesota, our farm is home to wolves, coyotes, fox, bears, raccoons, porucpines, skunks, turkey, grouse, beavers
and a multitude of other critters.
Because of this, our fencing has been built to meet Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and USDA standards with sufficient room below for wildlife to pass under and over
without injury. This is a necessity to aid in helping keep and grow the grouse population in this area.
We maintain structures, fencing and the
property to ensure no wildlife can become harmed or stuck.
The property is made up of grazing, land for hay and crops, forest and heavily wooded areas along with a large natural pond.
Some areas were thinned out to allow proper
drainage and sunlight to pass through. Some of the stumpage has been piled up and left to allow for cover and/or dens for the
wildlife. We offer up the land for animals that have been injured
and rehabilitated by the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota. Every year animals appear
to seek shelter and refuge here. Some, just for breeding season and others, for a long term safe haven. Even mice caught indoors are set free!
Since living in unity with
animals that naturally occur here, none have caused any distress to our livestock.
The Pieterses' currently reside with rescue cats and rescue dogs.
